Day by day itinererary:
Day 1 ARRIVAL ARUSHA
You will be met at the airport by your Driver/Guide
and our representative. We will take you to your
hotel in Arusha for a free day, with your Safari
starting tomorrow.
Day 2
Your Safari starts with the drive to Ngorongoro
Crater. Your Driver/Guide will make several stops
along the way at various places of interest, including
a stop at the edge of the escarpment overlooking
Lake Manyara. After arrival in Ngorongoro you
will descend into the crater for a game drive
at the bottom. Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 3
After breakfast a wonderful full day game drive
(with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater.
As very few animals migrate in and out of the
crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect
to see lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos,
flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds
and other species. Your Driver/Guide will be in
contact with other safari drivers and will amaze
you with his skill at locating the hidden animals.
Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 4
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti
National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided.
On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge
where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made
many significant discoveries, contributing to
the theory that human life originated in Africa.
After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje
(rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue
further into the park and go on a game drive.
Overnight in Serengeti.
Day 5
A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending
on the time of year and the migration of the herds
you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants,
giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos,
antelopes and many birds and other species. As
in Ngorongoro your Driver/Guide will be in contact
with other safari drivers and will amaze you with
his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight
in Serengeti.
Day 6
Another full day of game drives. Your Driver/Guide,
having consulted overnight with the other Driver/Guides
will head out in whatever direction will bring
you to animals you haven't yet seen. Overnight
in Serengeti.
Day 7
One final morning game drive before leaving. In
the afternoon we will reach Arusha, were we overnight.
Day 8
Early departure to your flight to Zanzibar. On
the way to the Menai Bay Beach Bungalows we will
do the Spice Tour. We have developed a special
Spice Tour with in depth information not only
about spices, but also organically grown herbs
and a detailed description about their traditional
uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After
the tour we invite for an opulent lunch, where
you can taste the spices and fruits. Overnight
at Zanzibar Retreat, your home
for the next five days.
Day 9-13
Relax and enjoy the tranquility and peace of the
East Coast of Zanzibar, or explore the island.

SERENGETI:
Huge herds of wildebeest, zebra and antelope dominate the park
during the Great Serengeti Migration. The
Serengeti is one of the best parks in Africa
to see lion, leopard, cheetah and other
predators that follow the plains' game.
NGORONGORO CRATER:
The
largest intact, unflooded caldera (crater)
in the world, Ngorongoro is a haven for
one of the largest permanent concentrations
of large mammals in Africa. Lion and hyena
are plentiful.
LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK:
The
park is situated in the Great Rift Valley
and is noted for hippo, elephant, giraffe
and excellent birdlife.
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK:
Tarangire, home to large herds of elephant, has a spectacularly
scenic baobab woodland. A seasonal migration
of wildlife is concentrated here July through
October.
ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK:
With Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background, this mountain park
is home to blue monkey and black and white
colobus monkey, bushbuck, elephant, giraffe,
buffalo, waterbuck and reedbuck.
MT. KILIMANJARO:
Mt.
Kilimanjaro is considered a world-class
climb, rising from the surrounding plains
of 3300 feet (1000 m) to 19,340 feet (5895
m).
SELOUS AND RUAHA NATIONAL PARK:
The
Selous and Ruaha are off the beaten track
and offer a great opportunity to explore
wild and unspoiled bush.
