The Management

The Zanzibar Retreat Hotel is a privately owned hotel with top management from Norway and Finland. One of the internationals, is always present as a managing Director. Both internationals are forming the Board of Directors.

The overall responsibility, principles and priorities of ZRH is with the Board of Directors of the company.

The BoD are responsible for the managing the business in accordance standard rules and regulations like reporting to authorities, auditing and other financial responsibilities.

The rules for recruitment, conditions, insurance and security of international staff are defined by the BoD. The BoD can add international or national resource persons to the Management if applicable. All decision regarding the hotel premises are taken by the Management.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of our hotel is in all aspects to give the ultimate retreat experience to all our clients. This will be provided through as good service as possible, excellent food and drinks, cleanness and tidiness of staff and facility, providing a peaceful stay without stress.

The customer who like attention and steady service should get it, and the one who desires tranquillity and peace, should also find their spot. The environmental aspects are highly regarded, and water usage and unneeded cleaning is cared for. We are not in any regards putting aside the comfort, but instead trying to combine the possibilities to save the nature and use the local resources.

The management is also dedicated to provide a good working environment for the staffs, properly employed and paid, with stimulating working conditions. The staff at the hotel are comprised as much as possible of people from the surrounding areas, which strengthens the village. During their working hours, on-the-job training will be done regularly including language skills and more specific work linked to their job description.

All tribes, sex and religions are equally treated and the emphasis will always be towards creating a team work, where all employees have the same value. His spirit will generate good atmosphere which also should be felt by the clients.
